World powers have reached a deal with Iran. This agreement puts limits on Iranian nuclear activity in return for the lifting of international economic sanctions. Iranian President Rouhani said that the agreement has opened a new chapter in Iran’s relations with the world.
Meanwhile, Israeli Prime Minister Netanyahu says this agreement is a stunning historic mistake. Netanyahu says that Iran wants to control the world.
David Dolan, a longtime journalist in the Middle East, agrees. I asked David if Iran does indeed want to control the world:
DAVE DOLAN: “[Iran does], and you know that we forget sometimes [about] the scope of modern weaponry, i.e., weapons of mass destruction, which can travel across the globe in just minutes. We should be worried; [Iran] is a country that states its goal is world domination. [In his day] Hitler did the same thing; he was going to establish the Fourth Reich over all the earth. The Third Reich would be in Europe, and then it would spread to the whole world, but let’s face it—he didn’t have the wherewithal to do that. But today, all Iran needs is a couple of dozen nuclear weapons that can travel on ballistic missiles, and Iran could literally wipe out the major cities of the United States and Europe as well as other places, and effectively begin its march to total world domination.
“It is indeed a possibility today that such a thing could occur; so we had better take [Iran’s] warnings,…statements,…repeated blustering on this seriously. I think that is what is being said to U.S. Secretary of State John Kerry by many senators here in America and other [political leaders] around the world, and certainly by Israeli Prime Minister Netanyahu, that a bad deal is worse than any deal. Anything that allows Iran any sort of nuclear capability is bad for the world, and I think that is definitely the case.”
With this nuclear deal in place, Iran is now a major danger to the entire world. Psalm 83:4 says there will be a call for Israel to be destroyed, and Iran on a continual basis repeats that statement—it will wipe Israel off the face of the earth. Ezekiel 38:5 finds Ezekiel the prophet saying that Iran, mentioned in the passage as Persia, will be a major player in the End Times. The Iranian nuclear deal is setting the stage for the fulfillment of God’s prophetic Word.
